Afternoons are meetings and briefings — preparing PowerPoint slides or Word reports for engineers, government agencies, or mission teams. Some days you launch weather balloons, collect air samples, or tune remote sensors; other days you teach or write papers.

Expect to use Linux for data processing, Python and occasionally C++ for analysis, and Excel for quick tables. Big shipments of data get checked with tools like IBM SPSS Statistics when doing formal statistics.

For presentations and reports you'll use PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook for scheduling. Calibrating instruments means interfacing with vendor software and command-line tools on Linux.
