Your social life can be magic or misery; either way, you still have to get through school tomorrow.
First, that doesn’t mean you’re broken; it just means your current environment hasn’t matched you with your people yet. Start microscopic: aim for one decent human, not a full group. Use places where you already are (class, bus, coaching, religious spaces, online hobby servers) and pick tiny moves: sit near the same person, comment on something they’re doing, or send a low‑pressure DM. Parallel to that, work on stuff that makes you feel like a person even without friends—hobbies, health, skills—so you don’t walk into every interaction starving for approval. It’s slower than movies make it look, but one solid connection is enough to change how school or college feels day to day.
Ask yourself what you feel after you hang out: drained, anxious, ugly, stupid, or constantly on edge is not normal baseline. Notice patterns: do they apologize when they hurt you, or call you ‘too sensitive’ every time? Can you say no without getting punished or mocked? Do they keep your secrets or use them as content? Everyone has bad days, but toxicity is when the disrespect is a pattern and you have to shrink or act fake to survive. Sensitivity just means things hit you hard; toxic friends keep hitting the same spots and then laugh when you flinch. If you’re questioning it this much, you probably need at least some distance, even if you don’t fully cut them off yet.
Yes, and it feels way harsher than people admit. School and college force you into random proximity; as time goes on, people get busy, move, change values, or just grow in different directions. It doesn’t mean the friendship was fake; it means it made sense for that season of your life. What matters is whether both of you are still choosing each other now, not what you promised in Class 7. Letting some connections gently fade gives you space for new ones that fit who you’re becoming, not just who you were. It still hurts—but it’s more like finishing a chapter than your whole book ending.
