Apply number formatting

I have the monthly ledger for client onboarding through June. Make the numbers readable: apply accounting-style formatting to the Amount column, two decimals, commas for thousands, negative amounts in parentheses; set the Date column to YYYY-MM-DD; and ensure totals row recalculates if rows are added. Do this before I share the sheet with finance on Friday.

Before I send this sheet to investors, make the figures obvious: put the largest totals in bold, move the Amount column to the left so it’s on screen first, add accounting formatting with two decimals and parentheses for negatives, and add a small note row explaining the currency and rounding. Flag any cells still formatted as plain text that will break SUM formulas.

I imported an exported CSV and the totals at the bottom don’t match expected numbers. The Date column shows weird text, and some Amount cells are left-aligned. I’m worried SUM is skipping text-formatted numbers and the fiscal reviewer will catch it at 10 a.m. What likely caused this, and what’s the quickest, safe fix that preserves original data and recalculates totals?

Every month I import transaction CSVs and spend 30–60 minutes fixing date and number formats before I can analyze cash flow. It costs me credibility with finance and delays Friday reporting. Which habit or small checklist change should I adopt so incoming exports land correctly formatted and I don’t have to do this manual repair each month?
