Link workbooks for live updates

Operations asked for live updates from the regional headcount workbook into our master model by Friday. Link the headcount workbook’s Total FTE and Average Salary cells into the master model so they refresh on open. Ensure links point to the file path on the shared drive, document the source workbook name and last modified timestamp on the model’s Data Sources sheet, and test that updates pull correctly when the source file is closed.

Before I hand this linked model to the planning managers, make the live links robust and easy to manage: surface the source file path and last modified time at the top of the Data Inputs sheet, highlight cells that are externally linked in light blue, add a single note explaining how to break links safely, and flag any links that point to personal folders or network paths that will change.
