The four heights

The same task, four distances: today's deadline, the next reviewer, the stuck moment, the pattern.

Execute — do the immediate task

Mobile shoppers abandon product pages within seconds if images or buttons feel cramped. Update the product page templates so the product title, primary image, price, and Add to Cart remain visible without scrolling on an iPhone 14 portrait view; ensure thumbnails collapse into a single swipeable gallery; make the Buy button full-width and fixed near the bottom; check variants display without wrapping; test with a real 32kb/s simulated connection before publishing.

Improve — make it easier to accept

Before I publish mobile changes, make it obvious and fast to buy. Move the savings or promotions to sit directly under the price, reduce descriptive text to one short paragraph with a See details link, convert image thumbnails into a swipeable carousel with pinch-to-zoom, enlarge the variant selector and keep it on one line for common SKUs, and highlight the primary CTA with a solid color and shadow. Flag any elements that push the Add to Cart offscreen on typical 5–6" phones.

Decide — diagnose the stuck moment

I just heard from customer support: mobile users can't find Add to Cart on product pages.

On a product page viewed on mobile, support reports many users tap images but never add items. I'm the ecommerce manager; the designers say the layout is intentional and developers say it's working as designed. I worry this is costing a week of conversion and that hiding the CTA is the issue, but I don't know whether it's layout, image loading, or a variant-selection bug. What is the most likely cause and the quickest test to confirm it?

Become — change the pattern

Product pages repeatedly lose mobile conversions because CTAs drop below the fold.

Across launches this quarter we keep losing conversions on phones when teams add badges, long descriptions, or extra carousels. I own conversion and am tired of last-minute mobile firefights. Which habit should I force into the release checklist so product pages stay buyable on small screens, and what single rule will stop designers and marketers from pushing CTAs offscreen?

Other ecommerce work people do in Shopify.

Every task here came from the work, not from a feature list — which is why the prompts name what you want done and never the button that does it. The tool changes; the work does not.
