Open the PDF form you want to fill in Adobe Acrobat.
Select the Fill & Sign tool from the right pane or the Tools menu.
Click into each form field and type your information where required.
Best practiceIf a field is not interactive, you can use the 'Add Text' option in Fill & Sign to type anywhere on the document.
Click the signature icon in the Fill & Sign toolbar to add your personal signature.
Choose to add your signature and either type, draw, or upload an image of your signature.
NoteYou can save your signature for future use if desired.
Click your signature to place it on the document, then drag it to the appropriate location.
Save the completed and signed PDF using File > Save or File > Save As.
CautionOnce saved, some forms may not allow further editing of fields or signatures.
You can resize or reposition your signature after placing it by clicking and dragging the corners.

Fill & Sign lets you quickly add a visual representation of your signature, like a handwritten one, to a PDF. It's easy for simple agreements. A digital certificate signature, however, uses encryption to verify your identity and the document's integrity. It's legally stronger and often used for highly sensitive documents where proof of identity and tamper detection are critical. Fill & Sign is about convenience; digital certificates are about security and legal assurance.
After you use Fill & Sign and save the document, the signature and text you added become part of the PDF. While someone could still technically edit the PDF using advanced tools, your signature itself is not protected by encryption. For stronger protection against changes after signing, consider using a certified digital signature if available, which locks the document and shows if any changes were made after your signature was applied. For basic use, Fill & Sign is usually sufficient.
An e-signature, or electronic signature, in Fill & Sign is simply your name or symbol added to a digital document to show your agreement or approval. It looks like a handwritten signature but is applied electronically. It helps you sign documents quickly without needing to print them out.
