Best practiceYou can batch process multiple PDFs with a single action to save time, as recommended by experienced users in productivity blogs.
You can reuse your saved action any time from the Action Wizard panel to quickly repeat the same steps on new documents.
This runs in the Acrobat app - there is no separate API for this task.
The Action Wizard is a feature in Acrobat Pro that lets you combine many tasks into one automated sequence. It is useful because it saves time by doing the same steps on many PDF files without you having to click each step for every file. This helps you work faster and more efficiently.
If your Action Wizard fails, first check the number of files. Action Wizard works best with about 100-200 files per run. If you have too many, try breaking your task into smaller batches. Also, make sure there are no JavaScript steps that might be silently failing, as these can sometimes cause issues without clear error messages. Check the Adobe community forums for similar issues.
Action Wizard can slow down or stop because it uses up computer resources for each file it processes. When you run it on too many files at once, it can run out of memory or processing power. This is why it is recommended to keep batch sizes to around 100-200 files to maintain good performance and avoid system slowdowns.
By default, you cannot run an Action Wizard action from the command line. It is designed to be used directly within the Acrobat Pro desktop application interface. If you need to automate actions via the command line, you would typically need to find and install a third-party plugin that adds this specific functionality to Acrobat. Without such a plugin, direct command-line automation is not possible.
