Select the option to share the document for review by clicking the Share button in the toolbar or right-hand panel.
Choose the method for sharing, such as selecting an option to invite people or generate a link for reviewers.
Enter the email addresses of your reviewers, or copy and share the generated link as needed.
Set any desired permissions or deadlines for the review process.
Send the invitation or share the link to begin the shared review.
Reviewers can add comments directly in the shared PDF, and you will see their feedback in real time within Acrobat.
This runs in the Acrobat app - there is no separate API for this task.
The biggest benefit of Share for Review is that it automatically combines all comments from different people into one single file. If you email PDFs, each person sends back their own file with comments. You then have to manually put all those comments together, which takes a lot of time and can be confusing. Share for Review makes this process simple and efficient.
After you share a PDF for review, Acrobat has a special area called 'Shared by you'. You can go there to see the status of your review. It will show you which reviewers have already left comments and which ones have not yet responded. This helps you keep track of everyone's progress.
Using a public link can be better when you need comments from a very large group or when you don't know everyone's email address beforehand. It makes it easy for anyone with the link to access and comment. However, if you need more control over who sees the document and want to track specific individuals, sharing with named people is better because it ensures only those invited can participate and you get notifications for each specific person.
Once reviewers add their comments to your shared PDF, Acrobat automatically gathers all of them into one central file. You do not need to do anything to merge them. You will also receive notifications when reviewers make comments. This means you always have a single, updated document with all feedback, making it easy to review and act on.
