| Signing Order | Description | Best Use Case |
|---|---|---|
| SEQUENTIAL | Signers must sign one after another, in the exact order you set. | For approvals where one person's sign-off is needed before the next, like a manager then a director. |
| PARALLEL | All signers can sign at any time, and the order does not matter. | When multiple people need to sign but their order doesn't affect the process, like multiple team members. |
Adding authentication, such as an SMS code or email code, for high-value agreements helps to confirm the signer's identity. This extra step makes the e-signature more secure and legally stronger. It reduces the risk of someone signing who is not authorized, protecting both parties involved in the agreement.
The Acrobat Sign API (Application Programming Interface) is a tool for developers to integrate e-signature capabilities directly into their own applications or systems. You can use it to automatically send documents for signature, manage agreements, and track their status without manually using the Acrobat desktop application. It allows for defining agreement details and file information programmatically, returning an 'agreementId' for further actions.
