| Routing Type | Description | When to Use |
|---|---|---|
| SEQUENTIAL | Signers receive the document one after another in a specific order. | For approvals where one person must sign before the next, like a manager then a director. |
| PARALLEL | All signers receive the document at the same time. | When the order of signing does not matter, and everyone can sign independently. |
Adding authentication, like an email or SMS code, makes sure only the correct person can sign the document. This is very important for high-value agreements because it adds an extra layer of security. It helps prove who signed the document and protects against fraud, making the agreement more trustworthy.
The Acrobat Sign API is a way for other computer programs to talk to Acrobat Sign and automate tasks. You can use it to create and send agreements for signature without manually using the Acrobat application. For example, your company's sales system could automatically send a contract for signature once a deal is closed. You define the agreement details and the files, and the API handles the sending and tracking.
