| Type | Description | When to use it |
|---|---|---|
| Sequential | Signers receive the document one after another, in a specific order (A then B then C). | For approvals where one person must sign before the next, like a chain of command. |
| Parallel | All signers receive the document at the same time. They can sign in any order. | When the order of signatures does not matter, and you want to get all signatures quickly. |
It is very important because if a document is attached but has no signature field, the signer cannot complete their part. This is the most common reason why e-signature requests fail. Always check each document to make sure all necessary fields are placed correctly for every signer.
If your e-signature request is not delivered, first check for simple mistakes. The most common reasons are a typo in the recipient's email address or your organization's email system blocking messages from adobesign@adobesign.com. Also, make sure you have placed signature fields on all attached documents. If these are correct, contact your IT department to check if adobesign@adobesign.com needs to be added to your email system's safe list.
