| Signing Order Type | How it Works | When to Use It |
|---|---|---|
| Sequential | Signers get the document one after another, in the order you set. Person A signs, then Person B, then Person C. | Use for approvals where one person must sign before the next, like a manager approving something before a director. |
| Parallel | All signers get the document at the same time. They can sign in any order. | Use when the order of signatures does not matter, like several team members signing a group agreement. |
It is very important because if a document does not have a signature field, the recipient cannot sign it. This is the main reason why people say 'it didn't work'. Always check each document to make sure all needed signature fields are placed correctly before you send the request.
The Acrobat Sign API is a way for computer programs to talk to Acrobat Sign. You can use it to automatically send documents for e-signature, track their status, and manage agreements without manually clicking in the Acrobat program. For example, you can set up your own system to send out all new employee contracts automatically. It helps integrate e-signatures into your existing business software.
