| Type | Description | When to use |
|---|---|---|
| Sequential | Signers receive the document one by one, in an order you set. The next signer only gets it after the previous one signs. | For approvals where one person must sign before the next, like a manager then a director. |
| Parallel | All signers receive the document at the same time. They can sign in any order. | When the order of signatures does not matter, like getting signatures from multiple team members. |
Adding authentication, like an email or SMS code, makes sure only the correct person can sign the document. This is very important for agreements that are high-value or contain sensitive information. It adds an extra layer of security and helps prove who signed the document.
The Adobe Acrobat Sign API is a tool for developers. It lets computer programs send documents for e-signatures automatically, without a person having to click buttons in the Acrobat app. You can use it to integrate e-signing into your own business systems, like automatically sending contracts when a new customer signs up. This saves time and makes workflows more efficient.
