| Type | Description | When to use |
|---|---|---|
| Sequential | Signers receive the document one after another in a specific order (A then B then C). | For approvals where one person must sign before the next, like a manager's approval. |
| Parallel | All signers receive the document at the same time and can sign in any order. | When the order of signatures does not matter, such as getting agreement from a team. |
Adding authentication, like an email or SMS code, makes your e-signature requests more secure. It helps confirm that only the correct person can sign the document. This is important for high-value agreements or sensitive documents where you need extra proof of identity.
If a recipient's email address is wrong, they will not receive the e-signature request. This means they cannot sign the document. You will need to correct the email and resend the request.
The Acrobat Sign API is a tool for developers that allows computer programs to send and manage e-signature requests automatically. It helps by letting you integrate e-signature functions into your own business systems. This is useful for tasks like sending many agreements at once or tracking their status without manual work, saving time and reducing errors.
