Fill and Sign is for when you need to sign a document yourself. It lets you type text into fields and place your own signature or initials. Other signing tools might be for sending documents to others for their signatures, or for more formal digital certificate-based signing. Fill and Sign is quick and easy for personal use.
Adding your signature with 'Fill and Sign' is a personal action. It means you, the user, are directly putting your mark on a document. Because it's a client action, there isn't a special API operation for it. APIs are usually for tasks that can be done without direct user input.
The fastest way is to open the document in Adobe Acrobat or Reader. Then, use the 'Fill and Sign' tool. You can quickly add your saved signature and save the file. This avoids printing and scanning.
An electronic signature is your legal mark on a digital document, just like a handwritten signature on paper. It's important because it shows you agree to the document's terms. It makes signing documents faster and more secure, as you don't need to print, sign, and scan. This saves time and resources.
