| Signing Order Type | How it Works | Best For |
|---|---|---|
| Sequential | Signers receive the document one by one, in a specific order. The next person only gets it after the previous one signs. | Hierarchical approvals where one person must approve before the next, like a manager then a director. |
| Parallel | All signers receive the document at the same time. They can sign in any order. | Approvals where the order does not matter, such as multiple team members reviewing a document simultaneously. |
Adding authentication, like an email or SMS code, makes your e-signature agreements more secure. It confirms that the person signing is truly who they say they are. This is especially important for high-value agreements or sensitive documents, as it adds an extra layer of proof and legal validity.
The Acrobat Sign API is a tool for developers to integrate e-signature functions directly into other business systems or applications. For multi-head approvals, it means you can automate the entire process. Instead of manually sending documents, your existing software can automatically generate, send, and track agreements for signatures from multiple people, saving time and reducing errors.
