Remove Background

Automatically remove the background from an image, isolating the main subject.

    Open Adobe Express.

    On the home page, under More ways to start, click Remove background.

    NoteAlternatively, if in a design, select the image and then select Remove Background in the left Image panel.

    Drag an image to the drop zone, or click Browse a file from your device to upload.

    Best practiceFor best results, start with high-resolution images that have a clear subject.

    Wait for the tool to automatically detect and remove the background.

    NoteAdobe Express uses AI to automatically erase the background.

    Click Download to save your image with the transparent background.

    NoteYou can also drop the image into other designs for further editing.

To restore the original background, select the image and click Remove Background again.

Adobe Express does not currently support batch processing for background removal, but Photoshop offers actions for automation.
