Recolor Artwork

Recolor Artwork in Adobe Illustrator allows you to quickly and efficiently change the colors of your selected artwork.

    Select the artwork on the canvas that you wish to recolor.

    Best practiceFor the Recolor button to appear in the Properties panel, you must first make a selection.

    Click the Recolor button in the Properties panel to open the Recolor Artwork dialog box.

    Alternatively, select Edit > Edit Colors > Recolor Artwork from the top menu.

    In the Recolor dialog, drag one color handle to change the hue of the selected artwork.

    Click the Link Harmony Colors icon in the Edit tab to link all colors for harmonious changes.

    To access more options, click the Advanced Options button within the Recolor Artwork dialog.

    In the Advanced Recolor Artwork dialog, select a desired color palette or group from the available options.

    Click OK or Apply to commit the color changes to your artwork.

Use the Recolor Artwork feature to apply global colors and standardize your brand's color palette across designs.

While Illustrator's Recolor Artwork is primarily a manual tool, scripting can automate some color application tasks.
