The Pen tool creates precise lines and curves to form shapes and paths in Adobe Illustrator.

    Open Illustrator.

    Select the Pen tool or press P.

    In the Properties panel, set the stroke weight to 1 pt.

    Set the stroke color to black in the Properties panel.

    Set the fill to none in the Properties panel.

    Click anywhere on the artboard to set the first anchor point.

    Move the pointer and click again to create a straight line segment.
