Adjustments Panel

The Adjustments panel allows you to non-destructively modify the color and tone of your images in Adobe Photoshop.

    Open the Adjustments panel by navigating to Window > Adjustments.

    NoteThe Adjustments panel must be open to access color and tonal adjustments.

    Click an icon in the Adjustments panel to select the desired adjustment type.

    NoteExamples include Levels, Curves, Hue/Saturation, and Brightness/Contrast.

    Alternatively, choose Layer > New Adjustment Layer and select the adjustment type.

    NoteThis creates an adjustment layer in the Layers panel.

    In the Properties panel, adjust the sliders or settings to modify the image.

    Hover over different Adjustment Presets in the Adjustments panel to preview them.

To edit a single layer, clip the adjustment layer to it by holding Alt (Windows) or Option (macOS) and clicking between the layers.

Many adjustment layer properties can be manipulated programmatically via Photoshop's scripting interface or actions, allowing for batch processing and consistent application of effects.
