Content-Aware Fill

Content-Aware Fill intelligently removes unwanted elements or fills missing areas in an image by sampling surrounding content.

    Open your image in Adobe Photoshop.

    Select the object or area you want to fill using the Lasso or Marquee selection tools.

    Best practiceFor best results, make a selection slightly larger than the object you want to remove.

    Right-click inside the selection and choose Content-Aware Fill from the drop-down menu.

    NoteAlternatively, go to Edit > Content-Aware Fill.

    Adjust the green sampling area overlay in the Content-Aware Fill workspace.

    NoteBrush over areas you don't want to sample using Subtract mode.

    Review the preview window to see the proposed fill.

    In the Fill Settings panel, adjust Opacity, Color, and Sampling Area overlay options as needed.

    Choose an Output To option (e.g., New Layer) from the Output Settings panel.

For quick, simple removals, you can also use Edit > Fill Selection and choose Content-Aware from the Contents drop-down.
