Interpret user‑research photos and craft a hero series that tests imagery impact on trust: grade color for mood, combine user photos into three hero variants with different focal crops, and export web‑ready JPGs for the landing page A/B test.

Before I hand the hero series to UX research, sharpen the test variables: create three distinct visual treatments (warm friendly, neutral documentary, high‑contrast aspirational), keep composition consistent across variants, annotate hypotheses for each treatment, and export labeled files ready for the A/B tool with notes for the researcher.
when the reply comes backPush once: ask it to sharpen the weakest part, and to say what it assumed.

Open your image by selecting File > Open.

  2. 2

Select the area you want to transform using a selection tool.

Best practiceFor expanding the canvas, use the Crop Tool to extend the image boundaries first.

NoteYou can also access it from Edit > Generative Fill, or Select > All then Edit > Generative Fill.

  4. 4

Type a prompt describing the object or scene you want to generate in the text-entry field.

NoteYou can leave the prompt field empty to have Photoshop generate content based on the surrounding image.

  5. 5

    Click Generate.

  6. 6

Review the generated variations in the Properties panel.

  7. 7

Select your preferred variation from the options.

  8. 8

Generative Fill creates new content on a separate generative layer, allowing non-destructive edits.

Generative Fill functionality is integrated within Photoshop and is not directly exposed as a standalone API for external automation.

Questions people actually ask

with the jobs and tasks they touch

When you scale up a photo quickly, Photoshop might create visible seams where the pixels don't blend well. To fix this, use the 'Healing Brush' or 'Clone Stamp' to blend the edges smoothly after resizing.

A contract manager or photographer should avoid quick scaling when enlarging images for large prints. Doing it carefully and using proper resampling methods minimizes seams, especially at high enlargement levels.

Use 'Image' > 'Image Size' and choose a resampling method like 'Preserve Details 2.0.' Always preview the result and refine with the 'Healing Brush' or 'Clone Stamp' if seams appear.

Seams form because Photoshop tries to stretch pixels unevenly, especially if the image has detailed areas. This mistake happens when you pick the wrong resampling method or resize too much at once.

A photo retoucher or digital artist often fixes seams by blending pixels post-resize. They work on refining images for high-quality prints or presentations.

AI tools, like Adobe Super Resolution, can improve image details and reduce seams when enlarging. However, they can't perfectly fix all complex seams—manual editing is still needed for best results.

People often confuse seam fixing with background replacement tasks like 'Replace Overcast Sky.' Both improve image appearance but require different techniques.
