  2. 2

On the Insert tab, in the Illustrations group, select Chart.

NoteAlternatively, use a slide layout that contains content and click the Chart icon.

  3. 3

In the Insert Chart dialog, select a chart category on the left.

  4. 4

Single-click a chart type in the middle pane to preview it.

  5. 5

Select the chart you want, and then click OK.

  6. 6

Enter your data into the Excel spreadsheet that appears.

Best practiceAvoid pasting charts as images; create them directly in PowerPoint for better editing and integration.

  7. 7

Close the Excel spreadsheet to apply the chart to your slide.

After inserting, select the chart to display Chart Tools, then use the Chart Design and Format tabs to customize its appearance.

PowerPoint charts can be created and manipulated programmatically using VBA or Office Add-ins, allowing for automation of data import and formatting.
