I have a 10-week course starting September 7 for new hires in the billing team. Prepare the course materials packet they will get on day one: a one-page syllabus with session dates and learning objectives, a 3-page practical exercise on reconciling an invoice batch, and slide-ready summaries for each week. Proofread for clarity and consistency, then save a printable PDF named Billing Course Packet Sept7 and flag anything missing before I print on Friday.

Before I hand this to the training coordinator, make the materials easier for supervisors to approve: put the top three learner outcomes on the cover, highlight the single metric we’ll use to judge competence, move the grading rubric to page two so it’s immediately visible, and list three reasons a reviewer might hesitate to sign off.

I just uploaded the draft reconciliation exercises and syllabus and sent them to Maria, the billing manager, two days ago. She replied once with a minor edit and then went quiet. I’m worried the exercises are either too technical or missing something she expects. I don’t know whether to wait, chase by email, or call her now. What is the most likely issue and what should I do next to keep the September 7 start on track?

Across several courses I’ve developed, revisions stall because managers open the draft, ask broad changes the week before start, and then disappear. That costs me hours and forces late prints.
