No dark backplate. Real dark mass ≥ 20%. Dark elements that touch the page get a thin gold rim so they survive black. Bolder scale + spin motion so it reads on cream. Two icons, five backgrounds each, at chat sizes. If this direction is right, I apply it to all 15 and draw the 25 in Hop 2.

What changed: backplate gone; the bright gold disc carries the silhouette on dark backgrounds, while the bold dark brows, heavy eyes and big open grin carry it on white/cream — so the face reads as a face on every surface, not just a gold dot. Motion (now full): the mouth laughs (opens at the bounce peak), the brows lift on the same beat, the whole face bounces, and the eyes blink — every key part moves, not just float + eyes. All on a 1.4s beat except the 5s blink; size changes read on cream.

Car — recut
Dark cabin + chassis + gold-rimmed wheels

What changed: the dark window cabin, chassis strip and wheels are now real mass (~25% of the icon) — and each wheel and the window get a thin gold rim, so on black, where the dark would normally vanish, the wheels still read as wheels. That gold rim IS "the foreground changes with the background." Motion: wheels spin at 0.6s + the body gives a driving bounce — both obvious on any surface.

The question for Hop 1
Look across the five tiles for each icon — especially black (does the dark stop vanishing?) and cream (can you now see it move?). And check the 36px chat size on each. If the face reads as a face and the car as a car on all five, and the motion is alive on cream, this is the recipe for Hop 2: I apply it to the other 13, add the 25, and every icon ships with ≥20% second colour and a gold rim on any dark part that meets the page. If something's off — grin too big, wheels too heavy, bounce too much — name it and it becomes the rule.
