Chapter 16 — Commas & Semicolons
How do commas and semicolons work?
Every comma needs a job, and some commas change the meaning — "Let's eat, Grandma" is an invitation; "Let's eat Grandma" is not. Find the parts of the sentence, give every comma a job, and check the joints between sentences. Learn lists and the Oxford comma, openers, extra information, comma splices, the semicolon, and semicolon or colon, for ages 5 to 19.
