Chapter 14 — Pronoun Agreement
What is pronoun agreement?
A pronoun must match the word it stands for, and the reader must be able to find that word — "Everyone brought their lunch"; "Ravi told Arjun he had won" (which one?). Point back to the antecedent, check it is clear, then match it. Learn everyone and their, singular they, team it or they, vague this and it, one, you or we, and inclusive choices, for ages 5 to 19.
