Systems thinking is the muscle that asks when this changes, what else changes? The child learns to track flow, predict cascades, and see the network behind the parts — the foundation of engineering, biology, economics, and good engineering judgement.

Children who take apart toys to see how they work, who ask 'but what if' a lot, who set up domino runs or marble tracks for fun. Systems-thinkers want to understand the engine, not just the wheels.

Starter puzzles have one chain or one loop. Regulars introduce competing forces or multiple variables. Stretches drop the child into emergent systems where simple rules create complex behaviour — like Conway's Life.
