Open the full game →Physics is the science of how things move, work and change. It studies forces, energy, light, sound, heat, electricity and the whole universe. In short, physics asks why things happen — and finds simple rules that explain them.
Because of gravity. Earth pulls every object towards its centre. The pull makes a falling object go a little faster each second. Without air to slow them, a feather and a stone would actually fall at the same rate.

So two cars at the same speed can have different velocities if they go different ways.
It tells you how a force changes motion.
Force equals mass times acceleration. A bigger push gives more acceleration, and a heavier object needs more force to speed up the same way.

Because of refraction. Light bends when it moves from water into air. The light from the part of the straw under water reaches your eyes along a bent path, so that part looks shifted — and the straw seems to break at the surface.
