You’ll use tools like AutoCAD Civil 3D or Revit to check designs, Excel to track costs and schedules, and Adobe Acrobat to mark up and share PDFs. Expect phone calls about delays, quick on-site problem solving, and written reports for the client.

Start with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office—every job posts them. Excel is used daily for cost tracking, load calculations, and progress logs; Word and Outlook handle reports and client communication.

Next learn Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D for infrastructure drawings and ESRI ArcGIS if projects involve mapping or topography. Knowing Adobe Acrobat for markups and AutoCAD/Revit basics helps you review and share design drawings.

You ensure safety standards are followed by coordinating with site supervisors, checking protective measures daily, and documenting inspections. That includes enforcing PPE, traffic controls, and safe material storage.
