Move files between folders

Move the latest budget spreadsheet Budget_Master_2026.xlsx from the Finance > Drafts folder into Finance > Approved and remove editor access for contractors when the move completes. Ensure the moved file keeps its version history and that the Finance team sees it in the Approved folder.

Before I move files for the month-end close, make approvals obvious: place a copy of the signoff email into the file’s folder, append a short note in the file metadata naming who approved and when, and ensure the moved file is reachable via the team’s existing Approved folder links. Flag any files that are linked into other documents so I can update references.

I moved Budget_Master_2026.xlsx into Approved, and now the monthly dashboard has broken references. I’m worried those reports are still pointing to the old path. What are the quickest checks to identify which dashboards are broken, and how do I relink them with minimal disruption so reports update before the close meeting?
