I have a draft school improvement plan to share with teachers tomorrow but last time feedback was scattered and non-ac…
Open Adobe Acrobat Pro.
Go to the Tools view and select Action Wizard.
Click New Action to create a custom batch process.
In the Choose Tools to Add panel, expand Pages and double-click Watermark or Background (choose one, depending on your need).
Click Add to include the selected tool in your action steps.
Click the tool name in the right pane to configure its settings, then set up your watermark or background exactly as desired (text/image, appearance, position, etc.), and click OK.
Optionally, add any other steps you want in the batch process, then click Save and give your action a name.
Click Start or Next to run your new action.
In the file selection dialog, select all the PDF files you want to process (use Ctrl+Click or Shift+Click for multiple files), then confirm.
Wait for Acrobat to process all selected PDFs and apply the watermark or background to each.
Best practiceIf you have hundreds of files, consider splitting them into smaller batches to avoid performance issues.
You can save your batch watermark/background action for future use, making it easy to process new sets of PDFs quickly.
This runs in the Acrobat app - there is no separate API for this task.
In Adobe Acrobat, you can use the 'Watermark' tool and select the option to apply your watermark to many files at once. This saves time because you do not have to add the watermark to each file one by one.
A watermark is usually a faded word or image that sits on top of the page content, often used for things like 'Confidential' or a company logo. A background is an image or color that appears behind the main content of the page.
Batch adding a watermark helps when you have many files that need to show ownership, status, or privacy, such as marking all invoices as 'Paid' or adding your brand logo to many documents at once.
If you used Adobe Acrobat to add the watermark, you can also remove or change it later by using the same tool, as long as you have the right permissions for the files.
When batch processing, the same watermark or background is usually applied to all selected PDFs. If you want different watermarks, you will need to add them to each file separately.
