Open your PDF file in Adobe Acrobat.
Select the Edit PDF tool from the right pane or the toolbar.
Click on the text you want to edit in the PDF.
Type to add, delete, or change the text as needed.
Click outside the text box or press Esc to finish editing.
Save the PDF to keep your changes.
Best practiceIf you notice formatting issues after editing, try adjusting the font size or spacing for better alignment.
You can undo text edits immediately by pressing Ctrl+Z or using the Undo option in the Edit menu.
This runs in the Acrobat app - there is no separate API for this task.
When Acrobat says 'Font not available,' it means the font used in your PDF is not installed on your computer. This matters because Acrobat cannot use that font for your edits, so your new text may look different. To keep your PDF looking the same, you must install the missing font or use a similar one.
If your PDF is a scanned image and looks blurry, Acrobat will try to use OCR to turn the picture into real text you can edit. Sometimes, if the scan is very blurry, the OCR might not work well and make mistakes. In this case, you can add a new text box on top of the blurry text to write over it, or try to get a clearer scan.
