Open Adobe Acrobat and create a new PDF Portfolio or open an existing Portfolio.
In the Portfolio workspace, select the location or folder where you want to add your multimedia file.
Click Add Files or drag and drop your audio or video files (such as .mp3, .mp4, .mov, .wmv) into the Portfolio.
NotePDF Portfolios store multimedia files as separate components; they are not embedded into a single PDF file.
Arrange or rename the multimedia files within the Portfolio as desired for presentation order or clarity.
Save the Portfolio to preserve your changes.
Recipients can play audio or video files directly from the Portfolio by double-clicking them, provided they have compatible software.
This runs in the Acrobat app - there is no separate API for this task.
| Feature | What it does | File format |
|---|---|---|
| PDF Portfolio | Puts many files into one container | Keeps original format for each file |
| Combine Files | Merges many files into one single document | Changes all files into one PDF format |
A PDF Portfolio lets you view and interact with the files inside it directly within Acrobat without having to extract them first, unlike a zipped folder. It also offers a more professional and organized presentation, allowing you to customize the layout and design of the container.
If your PDF Portfolio is slow, it might have too many files or the files are too large. For better performance, try to keep the number of files under 15 and the total size under 50 MB. This will help Acrobat open and manage the Portfolio more quickly.
