Open your PDF file in Adobe Acrobat Pro (desktop app).
Look for the AI Assistant panel or button, typically located in the right-hand toolbar or as a floating button.
If you do not see the AI Assistant, go to the Edit menu and select Preferences.
In Preferences, look for AI settings; if present, enable the checkbox to turn on the AI Assistant.
Best practiceIf the AI Assistant is not visible after subscribing, restarting Acrobat may be required for the feature to appear.
Return to your PDF and click the AI Assistant button to activate it.
Type your question or prompt about the PDF content into the AI Assistant input box and press Enter.
Review the AI Assistant's response, and use the provided options to ask follow-up questions or copy the answer.
CautionSensitive documents may be processed by Adobe servers when using AI features; review your organization's data policies before enabling.
You can use the AI Assistant to quickly summarize, search, or ask questions about the content of your open PDF without leaving Acrobat.
This runs in the Acrobat app - there is no separate API for this task.
To request access, you usually need to contact your teacher or the person who manages your group account. They can enable the AI Assistant for everyone or specific people.
Managing access means deciding who in your class or team can use the AI Assistant, making sure only the right people have permission.
If you are part of a Teams or Education account, you often need approval from your group admin or teacher before you can use the AI Assistant.
Individual accounts let you control your own access, but group accounts (like school teams) need someone to manage and approve access for everyone.
Using the AI Assistant can help your team or class work faster and smarter by making it easier to complete tasks and find information in documents.
