| Signing Order Type | Description | Best Use Case |
|---|---|---|
| Sequential | Signers must sign in a specific order, one after the other. | For approvals where hierarchy matters, like manager then director. |
| Parallel | Signers can sign at the same time; the order does not matter. | For group agreements where all signatures are needed, but timing is flexible. |
Adding authentication, like an email or SMS code, makes your e-signature requests more secure. This is very important for high-value agreements or sensitive documents. It helps confirm that only the correct person can open and sign the document, protecting against fraud and ensuring legal compliance.
The Acrobat Sign API is a set of tools that lets other computer programs send and manage e-signature requests automatically. This means you can integrate e-signing directly into your own business systems, like a CRM or HR software. It helps automate workflows, reduce manual steps, and process many agreements without human interaction. You define the agreement and file details, and the API handles the sending and tracking.
