Before I give the QC report to the lab director, make the findings easy to scan: surface the pass/fail summary on page one, list methods and lot numbers next, and flag any outlier that needs a retest. Mark which results depend on control runs so the director can approve at a glance and not ask for the raw data unless necessary.

A routine QC run returned a borderline assay result for a key control; the analyst logged it as acceptable under the old tolerance but the new SOP tightens that range.
