Pattern reasoning is the muscle that finds rhythm in chaos. The brain looks for repetition because repetition is how learning compresses information — spotting the rule once means you don't have to memorise every example.

Children who notice details adults miss — the way the floor tiles fit together, the way leaves on a stem grow at the same angle, the way songs return to the same melody. Pattern-readers find delight in repetition.

Starter puzzles use 3-step sequences and obvious rules. Regulars introduce two-rule grids and competing patterns. Stretches require the child to invent the rule themselves, like a Fractal Lab where every parameter changes the whole.
