Blend layers with blending modes

Make the logo layer blend into the scene from 00:03:00 to 00:03:06 using Overlay mode at 65% opacity, then keyframe opacity down to 0% by 00:03:10 for the fade-out. Check the result against the background plate and the grade to ensure highlights don’t clip. Export a short proof clip for client review.

Before I send this to branding, make the blend obvious but not crushed. Try Soft Light at 60% and compare to Overlay at 65%, surface the version that preserves midtone texture, and flag any frames where the logo’s highlights clip the grade. Note which blend gives the cleanest PNG export for the web team.

I applied Overlay at 65% and the logo reads fine on the daylight plate but looks washed and loses contrast on the interior shot at 00:03:04. I don’t know whether to adjust opacity, switch to Soft Light, or add a luminosity mask. The creative director wants the logo legible in both environments without a second version. What’s the best fix that’s quick and reversible?
