Create freeze frames

I need a three-frame freeze on the reaction at 00:23:10. Create a freeze frame from that frame, place it as a cut on V2 for three frames, keep audio rolling beneath, and extend the outgoing L-cut by two frames so the dialogue reads. Confirm frame accuracy and that the action doesn’t jump when returning to motion.

Before I hand this to the director, make the freeze-frame sections obvious and nondestructive. Generate freeze frames as separate clips named Freeze_Reaction_23_10, add a one-line note with source timecode, show whether each freeze uses a frame-hold or exported still, and flag any transitions where the freeze needs a gap fill or a crossfade to avoid a visual pop.

I applied a frame hold to create a freeze but the underlying room tone and the actor’s line drop out at the hold point. The director is in the room expecting continuity. I don’t know whether to duplicate audio, extend wild track, or crossfade. What’s the quickest reliable fix to keep audio natural through a short freeze frame?

On every cut I add freeze frames and then spend time rebuilding continuity audio and relinking split edits. It costs me client hours and makes reviews messy. Which routine or template should I adopt so freezes are visually and sonically seamless first pass?
