Correct white balance

Correct white balance on the reel before the producer review at 2pm. Normalize daylight shots to 5600K and indoor tungsten shots to 3200K, then check the interview close-ups in the edit bay for neutral grays and consistent skin tones before exporting a review MP4.

Before the producer sees this reel, make the white-balance corrections easy to approve: surface the corrected temperature for each scene at the top, show a split-frame of a neutral gray card when available, and flag shots where auto white balance introduced color casts that need manual fixes.

I just noticed the interview clip shifts color between cuts because the camera used auto white balance. The producer will call it inconsistent and I’m not sure which takes used the gray card. What’s the quickest way to lock consistent white across the interview without re-shooting or asking the producer to choose takes again?

I keep inheriting footage where operators left cameras on different white-balance settings and I spend hours fixing it during finishing. It causes delays and vendor friction. What one habit should I require on set or in my ingest process to stop this recurring problem?
