Copy and paste components

Copy the header, footer, and a reusable card component from the marketing file into the product system and preserve auto-layout, component variants, and text styles. Update instances to use current color and spacing tokens and replace deprecated components before saving to the library. Confirm nothing breaks in three test screens: dashboard, settings, and billing.

Before I paste these components into the system library, make it obvious what will cause regressions. Surface nested overrides, list local styles that differ from the library, flag instances where text styles will detach, and preview how variants map to existing components so reviewers can sign off fast.

I copied the marketing card into the product library and after pasting, variants collapsed and several pages show broken overrides. The PM will blame the design system for instability and engineers will need a hotfix. I don't know whether the paste detached components, renamed styles, or conflicted with existing tokens. What's most likely and what immediate repair will restore consistency with the least risk?

Teams regularly paste new components into the shared library and create hidden style conflicts and merge headaches. I'm accountable for the design system health and need a sustainable change.
