Insert and edit headers

I need a running header that shows the client name on the left and the document title on the right for every page. Insert the header throughout the document, unlink headers from previous sections if necessary, use the same font and size as the body, and preserve the cover page as headerless. Check that the header does not overlap the first line of text on any page and save as Headered_ClientName.docx.

Before I send the brief to the partners, make the header more review‑friendly: surface the client name and version number up top, ensure the cover remains headerless, and flag any sections where headers are still linked to previous sections so a reviewer isn’t surprised by repeating or missing headers.

I put the client and title in the header on page two but on page five the old firm header reappeared. I’m not sure whether those sections are linked or whether there are different first‑page settings. I can’t tell who changed earlier templates. What’s the most likely reason the header content is inconsistent across sections and the safest steps to make the new header apply everywhere except the cover without wiping out deliberate first‑page exceptions?

Every time someone else edits my contract drafts, headers end up inconsistent: wrong client, missing version, or duplicate text.
