Turn on disappearing messages

Before I enable disappearing messages for the client support group, make the setting easy to approve. Show which participants will be affected, warn which messages (pinned messages, starred messages) will be preserved or removed, and call out compliance implications for the client contract and our retention policy so procurement won’t push back.

I’m about to enable disappearing messages in the support group shared with Elena and Tom plus three clients. I’m afraid that doing this will erase evidence a client might later demand, and I don’t know which files or pinned notes will survive. What’s the likely impact and what should I tell the clients before I switch it on?

We keep toggling disappearing messages for different client groups and then scramble to recover attachments or proof when disputes happen. Which recurring decision is causing the most risk—who authorizes the change, how long timers are set, or lack of archiving—and what single rule will reduce disputes and save time?
