Large projects may store models and data on cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Amazon EC2; data analytics or schedules can use systems like Apache Hive. Expect to pick up the firm’s specific toolchain quickly.

Architects create the overall design intent and aesthetics; structural engineers design load paths and calculations. A BIM modeler focuses on the digital model that coordinates those disciplines: clash detection, construction documentation, and constructability reviews.
