Leave the meeting

I need to leave the meeting now but the lesson continues. Mute my mic, stop my video, remove myself from participants list without ending the meeting for others, and set a brief note in chat saying I have to step out until 3:30 PM.

Before I leave, make it easy for others to keep teaching—show who will stay as host, surface any pinned materials or the current presenter, and flag if my leaving will remove meeting controls so I can hand host duties or assign co-hosts first.

I need to step out for five minutes and the class must continue. I’m worried that leaving will drop the only host controls and disrupt the session. I cannot tell if any colleague is set as co-host. Should I assign co-host rights first, message who will cover in chat, or stay and risk being late to my next commitment? What’s the safest quick sequence?

Over the past week I’ve left mid-call and classes paused while host controls were reassigned. Where do I keep failing—forgetting to assign a co-host, not announcing my exit, or relying on a single host—and what single habit change will stop this from happening in future lessons?
