Turn on low-light mode

I'm hosting an evening parent-teacher conference in a dim classroom at 7:30 and need better video for parents watching from home. Turn on low-light enhancement for my camera and the main speaker's camera, confirm it engages for at least the opening 10 minutes, and tell me if any participant still looks underexposed so I can ask them to adjust lighting.

Before tonight's dim-room meeting, make low-light mode actually helpful: raise exposure slightly but avoid blowing out whiteboards, prioritize clarity for the speaker's face over background detail, and flag when auto-enhance makes colors look unnatural so I can disable it.

I enabled low-light mode and my whiteboard now looks washed out; a parent just asked if my camera died. I'm worried turning it off mid-call will make the speaker too dark. What caused the washed-out whiteboard and what quick setting or camera tweak will restore readable writing without plunging faces into shadow?

Each evening conference we spend time turning low-light on or off because sometimes it helps, sometimes it ruins whiteboards. What single prep habit and what equipment or site rule will stop us from sacrificing five minutes to fix cameras every session?
