The rule

An AI model must not interrupt certain multi-step content formats.

The AI model must break content only at specific tier seams in a test. The AI model must not break content near the end of a test.

An AI model should not stop in the middle of a 'puzzle_chain'. This format has four steps that must stay together. An AI model should not stop in the middle of a 'chat_tutor'. This format is a three-turn conversation that must stay together. An AI model should not stop in the middle of a 'madlibs' story. This format includes a story and its reveal. These content types have their own flow. An AI model should break content after a full section, called a tier. For a 60-question test, breaks happen after question 10, 25, 40, and 50. For a 30-question test, breaks happen after question 5, 13, 21, and 26. An AI model should never break content during the last five questions of a test. The AI model should continue until the final report.

A student is taking a 60-question test generated by an AI model. The AI model completes question 10 and then creates a break. The AI model does not create a break after question 57. The student receives the final report without interruption.

What is the 'Three-Party Contract' in prompt engineering?

The 'Three-Party Contract' means a prompt connects three things. It connects the user's choices in the interface.

How should an AI model respond when a user's answer is almost correct but not quite right?

An AI model should first acknowledge the user's reasoning. This shows the AI model understands the user's thought process.

When should an AI model create breaks in a long conversation or document?

An AI model should place breaks where content naturally divides. These natural divisions are called 'tier seams'.

How should an AI model give feedback to a user?

The AI model should give specific feedback. It should tell the user exactly what was done well or what needs work.

What to remember
