Frequently Asked Questions

Getting Started
Yes, 100% free. No catch. No hidden costs, no premium upgrades, no ads, no in-app purchases. All 100+ chapters across all 6 levels are freely available. This is an educational passion project, not a business.
No account needed. Just open and start learning. Progress saves automatically on your device using browser storage. We prioritize privacy โ€” no data collection, no tracking, no emails.
Any device with a modern web browser โ€” tablets, phones, laptops, desktops, Chromebooks. Works on Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge. Tablets are ideal for younger children; desktops work great for older students.
Once a page is loaded, most activities work without internet. For the best experience, ensure pages are fully loaded before going offline. Audio narration requires internet.
Curriculum & Content
Yes. We cover 100% of required topics for CBSE, ICSE, and Cambridge Primary mathematics. But we don't just "cover" โ€” we teach for deep understanding. A child who truly understands mathematics will excel in any board examination.
Like Khan Academy, we're free and comprehensive. Key differences: (1) We're designed specifically for Indian curriculum alignment (CBSE/ICSE) while also meeting Cambridge standards. (2) We use interactive games, not just videos. (3) We have year-long Reasoning Studios that build explanation skills. (4) All levels are unlocked โ€” we trust curious minds to explore.
IXL focuses on drill and repetition; we focus on conceptual understanding. Prodigy gamifies with RPG mechanics; we gamify with meaningful mathematical challenges. Both have paid premium tiers; we're entirely free. Unlike both, we emphasize "why" before "how" and build reasoning skills, not just procedural fluency.
We cover all required topics more deeply than textbooks. A child who truly understands mathematics will excel in examinations. For exam-specific practice, supplement with past papers 2-3 weeks before exams. But the foundation we build is what makes that practice effective.
Pre-KG: Numbers 1-20, alphabets, shapes, colors, patterns, comparison, positions.
Class 1-2: Numbers to 100, addition, subtraction, multiplication basics, measurement, time, money, shapes, data.
Class 3-4: Large numbers, all operations, fractions, factors, multiples, geometry, data handling, reasoning.
Class 5: Place value systems, operations with large numbers, fractions, decimals, geometry, area/perimeter, data interpretation, transition to middle school.
Learning Approach
15-20 minutes per session is ideal. Quality over quantity. Research shows shorter, focused sessions build stronger retention than hour-long marathons. For Pre-KG, even 10 minutes is valuable. Let the child lead โ€” stop when engagement drops.
Not necessarily. Within each class, chapters are arranged logically, but children can jump based on interest or school alignment. The Reasoning Studios and Practice Labs are designed to be accessed anytime throughout the year. Follow curiosity.
We prioritize understanding over speed. We ask "how did you know?" not just "is that right?" We teach concepts before procedures โ€” algorithms are summaries of ideas already understood. We use estimation, reasoning, and sense-making, not just calculation. Math becomes thinking, not memorizing.
Play IS serious learning โ€” especially for young minds. Behind every game is deliberate pedagogy: tapping numbers builds number sense, matching develops pattern recognition, story problems teach mathematical modeling, earning stars tracks mastery. The fun serves the learning, not the other way around.
For Struggling & Advanced Learners
Start with Class 2 (or even Class 1) chapters on the struggling topic. There's no shame in building foundations โ€” it's the smartest thing to do. All levels are unlocked precisely for this reason. Gaps in earlier concepts always show up later. Fill the gaps, then move forward confidently.
Absolutely! See Explorer Mode. All levels are unlocked. We believe age is not ability. But we recommend: (1) Complete current level deeply first (all 3 stars). (2) Try the Reasoning Studio โ€” it challenges thinking, not just calculation. (3) Then explore ahead. Depth before breadth ensures no hidden gaps.
We've designed for accessibility: clear visuals, audio narration, no time pressure, infinite practice without penalty, and the ability to revisit any concept. However, we're not a specialized intervention program. Children with significant learning differences may benefit from this alongside professional support.
Math anxiety often comes from pressure and confusion, not math itself. We remove both: no timers, no penalties, educational feedback that explains "why", and celebration of effort. Start with Pre-KG or Class 1 regardless of age โ€” build confidence with success, then progress. Many "math haters" just need a fresh start.
For Parents & Teachers
For Pre-KG and Class 1: Sit with your child, enjoy together, discuss. For Class 2-3: Check in, ask "what did you learn?", let them explain to you. For Class 4-5: Trust them to work independently, review progress weekly. The key: ask "how did you figure that out?" more than "did you get it right?"
Yes! Each chapter works beautifully on projector or smartboard for whole-class teaching. The interactive elements engage group participation. Many teachers use chapters to introduce topics, then follow with textbook work. No login means no setup hassle โ€” just open and teach.
Excellent for homeschooling. Complete curriculum coverage, clear progression, interactive activities that don't require parent expertise in math. The Parent sections in each level provide teaching guidance. Combined with manipulatives and real-world practice, this can be a complete homeschool math program.
Each level shows stars earned per chapter (3 stars = mastery). The main index shows total stars across all levels. Progress saves locally on the device. For detailed review, sit with your child and ask them to show you what they've learned โ€” their explanation tells you more than any dashboard.
Yes, but progress is shared on the same browser. Options: (1) Use different browsers (Chrome for one, Firefox for another). (2) Use browser profiles. (3) Simply accept shared progress โ€” siblings often motivate each other! We designed for simplicity over complex user management.
Technical Questions
Progress saves in your browser's local storage. It can be lost if: (1) Browser data/cache is cleared. (2) You switch to a different browser or device. (3) You use private/incognito mode. This is the tradeoff for no-login privacy. For important progress, take screenshots of star counts.
Audio narration uses your device's text-to-speech. Ensure: (1) Device volume is up. (2) Browser isn't muted. (3) You're connected to internet (for some voices). (4) Try clicking the audio toggle button. If issues persist, the content is fully usable without audio.
Currently, we're web-based only. You can save individual pages for offline viewing (Ctrl+S), but full offline app functionality isn't available yet. Most modern browsers cache well, so previously visited pages often work offline.
We collect nothing. Zero. No accounts, no analytics tracking, no cookies beyond essential browser storage for your progress. Your child's learning data stays entirely on your device. We can't see it, sell it, or lose it. Privacy by design.
Think Lab
Think Lab is our logic and puzzle series โ€” "not maths, and yet deeply mathematical." It includes tangrams, logic grid puzzles, pattern challenges, and spatial reasoning activities. These build the thinking skills that underpin mathematical success: deduction, pattern recognition, and spatial visualization.
Think Lab is a separate but connected series. Some puzzles are always open for everyone. Advanced puzzles unlock as your child completes Junior Maths chapters โ€” rewarding progress with new challenges. At 50 total stars, the Secret Vault unlocks with master-level puzzles. It's motivation that matters.
Yes! The basic puzzles in Think Lab (Tangrams Level 1, What Comes Next?, Easy Logic Grids) are designed for young learners. They use visual patterns and drag-and-drop interactions, no reading required. Perfect for ages 3+ with parent guidance.
Research shows that logic puzzles, spatial reasoning, and pattern recognition are strong predictors of mathematical ability. Think Lab develops these "mathematical habits of mind" in a playful context. Children who practice logical thinking transfer those skills naturally to maths problem-solving.

Our Philosophy
โ–ผ
Age is not ability. If you're curious, explore. If you understand, advance.
  • โœ“ Reasoning over speed. We ask "how did you know?" more than "is that right?"
  • โœ“ Understanding before procedures. Algorithms are summaries of ideas already understood.
  • โœ“ All levels unlocked. We trust learners to explore. Curiosity is never punished.
  • โœ“ Depth before breadth. Master deeply, then advance. Three similar lines of code is better than a premature abstraction.
  • โœ“ Joy-based repetition. Fix the interaction, vary the surface, keep the count small. Repetition = comfort = willingness = real learning.
  • โœ“ Calm confidence. We build mathematicians who think, not students who panic.
