An AI model must generate diverse outputs by first exploring different meanings of the input.
Applying variety parameters after the model has chosen one meaning will result in outputs that are too similar.
An AI model needs a two-step process. First, it should find many different interpretations of the input. This is called semantic explosion. Then, for each chosen interpretation, the model generates text with specific, forced differences in style and structure. This ensures each output is unique in meaning and presentation.
A user asks an AI model to generate aphorisms about 'restless'. The model first identifies ten distinct conceptual angles for 'restless', such as 'the hunger that drives greatness' or 'what children have before school beats it out'. Then, it picks four of these angles and generates an aphorism for each. Each aphorism uses a different sentence style, word choice, and structure. This makes the four outputs feel like they came from different writers with different ideas.
